Stage Four: Living a Balanced Life

Replenish the energy you expend at work by taking care of yourself physically, mentally, emotionally and financially.

Upon completion of this section:

  1. You will be able to identify steps to take to keep yourself physically fit.
  2. List ways to care for yourself mentally and emotionally.
  3. List the four actions to take to be financially stable.

Protect Your Physical Health

To protect your physical health you must do two things:

Avoid Injury


Protect Your Mental Health

Keeping your brain in shape prevents your creativity from suffering and your thinking from becoming negative and lazy.


Protect Your Emotional Health

Change your response to stress.   Develop the structure and support you need to handle life's ups and downs.


Procrastination

Procrastination means postponing doing something, especially as a regular practice.   Below are some of the causes of procrastination.

There are ways to minimize procrastination.

Having a Stress-Reducing Structure for your day and week will help protect you emotionally.

To Protect Yourself Financially you must do four things consistently:

Americans don't save much money. Be different. Save as much as you can--both short- and long-term.

Credit is when a bank or company loans you money. If you don't pay it back in full immediately, the bank charges interest.

It's important that you understand how credit cards work, why banks loan money and what they expect back from you.
